Why detox?

What are toxins?

Toxins are any substances that have harmful effects on your body. Unfortunately, they are unavoidable in our world of poor diet, processed foods, high stress, and pollution. 

Toxins invade the body from three main sources: 

  1. Environment (polluted air, heavy metals, pesticides, etc)
  2. Personal lifestyle (fast food, cosmetics, nicotine, alcohol, etc)
  3. Body’s own metabolic processes (bacterial or fungal overgrowth, stress, trauma, etc)

How do we get rid of toxins?

Normally the immune system, liver, kidneys, and gastrointestinal (GI) system work together to eliminate toxins. When the GI tract is not functioning optimally,  additional burden is placed on the liver to remove toxins. 

When toxin levels accumulate and exceed our body’s capability (primarily via the liver) to remove them,  it is termed increased toxic burden. 

Increased toxic burden may not be evident at first, but as time goes on, its effects can be seen in all body systems and can look like:

  • Pain
  • Inflammation
  • Brain fog
  • Weight gain/fat accumulation
  • Fatigue
  • Hormonal disruption

This assessment is used to evaluate the body systems and symptoms and serves as a baseline marker as well as a guide to whether you would benefit from a 7 day or 14 day Reset.

Scoring Guide

  • 0 to 10: Optimal. You have a low level of toxic burden
  • 11 to 50:You have a mild level of toxic burden
  • 51 to 100: You have a moderate level of toxic burden
  • Over 100: You have a severe level of toxic burden

If you scored under 50, you will benefit from the 7 day detox program to kickstart your journey to health and help your body remove toxins.

If you scored over 50, you may benefit from and extended version of the 7 day detox program. Consider extending the dietary guidelines and supplementation for 14-28 days.

Program Overview

Remedy Reset is a 7-day program designed to enhance and promote primary pathways of detoxification in the liver that helps to reset, restore, and revitalize your health.

Remedy Reset provides 3 active formulas –Core CleanseRemedy Multivitamin, and Daily Detox – which function synergistically to support detox pathways. These targeted nutrients enhance the detoxification of environmental pollutants, hormone disruptors and other harmful toxins.

Days 1-2: Fasting Days

  • Core Cleanse: 2 Scoops AM & PM
  • Multivitamin: 2 Capsules AM & PM

The first two days allow a Core Cleanse protein shake in the morning and the evening along with the Remedy Multivitamin. 

These two will serve as the foundational nutrition for the first day and allow your body a break from an influx of toxins and allow the liver to ramp up the detox process.

Although optionalit is highly recommended that you follow the guidelines to have the first two days as fast-mimicking days. 

Days 3-7: Add in Detox Friendly Foods

  • Core Cleanse: 2 Scoops AM & PM
  • Multivitamin: 2 Capsules AM & PM
  • Daily Detox: 2 Capsules AM & PM

Continue the Core Cleanse and Remedy Multivitamin and add in the Daily Detox supplement in the morning and the evening.

Add in detox friendly foods and avoid food items recommended to exclude.

Foods to Include

  • All fresh fruit and vegetables (except if on the Foods to Exclude list)
  • Grains: wild rice, brown rice, gluten-free oats, millet, amaranth, buckwheat, tapioca
  • Nuts & Seeds: almonds, cashews, walnuts, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds
  • Milk Products: non-dairy milks such as unsweetened coconut, almond, or hemp milks, or gluten-free oat milk
  • Proteins: wild game, wild caught fish, organic or pasture-raised chicken or turkey, grass-fed organic beef.
  • Fats & Oils: Extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, unrefined coconut oil, sunflower oil, sesame oil, other nut oils (except peanut oil)
  • Beverages: purified water, sparkling water, organic herbal or green tea
  • Spices & Condiments: Turmeric, Garlic, Ginger, Rosemary, Cocoa, Pink Himalayan Salt
  • Sweeteners: *Allowed but discouraged* Stevia, Xylitol
  • Plant Proteins & Legumes: all except soy, canned beans acceptable as long as can is “BPA free”

Foods to Exclude

  • Fruit: Canned fruit packed in syrup, high sugar or artificial berry juices, oranges
  • Vegetables: corn, canned vegetables in sauces, soybean and soy-based foods
  • Grains: refined flours, gluten containing grains (wheat, spelt, kaput, rye, barley), oats allowed only if gluten-free
  • Nuts & Seeds: peanuts, peanut butter
  • Milk Products: cow dairy products (milk, yogurt, butter, cheese, ice cream)
  • Proteins: conventional beef, pork, lunch meat, hot dogs, sausage, bacon, eggs, shellfish
  • Fats & Oils: margarine, butter, hydrogenated oils, cooking sprays, mayonnaise, shortening, corn oil, canola oil, vegetable oil
  • Beverages: coffee, black tea, soda, alcohol, energy drinks, sweetened beverages
  • Spices & Condiments: ketchup, mustard, relish, soy sauce, barbecue sauce, chocolate, iodized salt
  • Sweeteners: white or brown sugar, honey, agave nectar, maple syrup, corn syrup, Sucralose, aspartame, saccharin, artificial colors and preservatives
  • Plant Proteins & Legumes: soybeans, tofu, miso, edamame

After the Reset

Food Reintroduction

After you complete the 7 day reset add in food groups one at a time to evaluate if any sensitivities exist.

Common symptoms of food sensitivities:

  • GI distress: bloating, constipation, diarrhea, acid reflux
  • Mood disturbances
  • Fatigue
  • Skin blemishes

If no reactions occur with 48 hours leave the food group in and add in another.

If you experience symptoms of sensitivity, remove the food group for another 3 weeks then try to add back in.

How often do I complete the Reset?

I recommend completing a Reset program once every 6-12 months.
